It came unexpectedly. One random workday, I received an email from someone expressing interest to place text links on my lifestyle blog. He said he'd set a good price for it. I said I'm interested in his offer but the links should be porn-free and related to my niche at the very least. In short, we have agreed to do business.
Actually, he replied a bit late. At one point, I thought maybe he was just one of those people who have emailed me expressing interest in my blog and when I'd show interest as well, would disappear into thin air without even having the guts to reply to my email. But this one was different. When he got back to me, he said he was willing to pay $100 for five links. I said sure and before I knew it, he had already sent the instructions and the five text links and their corresponding URLs.
After checking the links and doing what he has instructed me to do, I let him know at once. The next day, I got my payment of $100 via Paypal. Business done. It was that smooth and fast. I couldn't believe it. His five links are now showing on the upper right side bar of my website. And they are for good, just like the other text links I publish in my blogs in the form of paid posts.

For the record, this is my first freelance ad placement deal. Those that I've done in the past came from advertising networks of which I signed up to be a member of. But this time I did it by myself, with no mediator to do the negotiation and the succeeding transactions for me.
Definitely, this is a great way to start the year for me, the online breadwinner. I hope to receive more offers like this in the coming months. :)
